Adventures from an Eastbourne B&B – stories from rock-pools and more!
After the recent sunny spell the sea is now officially lukewarm or at least it no longer turns toes pale blue which means that the rock pools are beckoning! These have to be included on any family holiday in Eastbourne!
Our planned 30 minute saunter turned into a two hour adventure as we acquainted ourselves with life within the pools, in the process bagging a bucketful of crabs, shrimps, seaweed and the odd fish.
If you fancy having a dabble I suggest you target low tide and head for the beach in front of The Grand Hotel, close to the Wish Tower, and gradually head towards Beachy Head along the exposed reef.
Security at the guest house, meanwhile, has been significantly up-weighted and visitors are likely to be confronted by an increasingly dangerous-but-waist-high karate student at the front door – our oldest has progressed from white to red belt – having temporarily targeted his palm-strikes and roundhouses away from my nether regions and towards the chap who does the grading at the local church hall.
So if you fancy a family break on the south coast or tangling with a ninja do give us a call on +44 (0)1323 722774 to book your accommodation and pick up a fishing net.
