Smashes, suntans and Soul Sex – summer is hotting up in Eastbourne!
I can almost hear the serves coming from the AEGON tennis championship just down the road at Devonshire Park.
We very nearly accommodated one of the top players in a delightful house within our Exclusively Eastbourne Holiday Homes portfolio this week, but her agent thought ‘she might not make it beyond Thursday’ so wouldn’t book a full week, and instead plumped for a tiny hotel room. With backing like that, who’d fancy her chances?!
Still, Eastbourne is alive with perma-tanned girls and wizened old men in tracksuits accompanying them, so unless the town is suddenly playing host to a random new Channel 4 reality show I can only hope they’re the players and coaches.
That means that summer is truly with us! The sun is actually playing ball as well – it must be 21 degrees out there today, with a cooling breeze, and the sea is finally bearable for a swim. We also have many of our regulars back staying with us at The Guesthouse East for the tournament so life is very pleasant indeed.
Talking of regulars we’re chuffed that Dr Anne Moir and John Campbell have returned to Eastbourne, this time for a permanent base and with a concept that might just keep our spirits up for longer than a summer season.
Soul Sex, pioneered by Anne and John, is a new way of love-making apparently – disappointingly, 15 minutes is not an appropriate window for intimacy, and their program instead introduces new ways to create joy and togetherness, deepening loving connections or restoring them when they’ve been lost.
The sessions run every Thursday evening from June 25–August 13 and tickets cost £20 per evening or £140 for eight weeks.
People can book at soulsex.eventbrite.co.uk and find out more information at www.wetalkaboutsex.com
Another fine reason to head down to Eastbourne and for once have an early night.
